Xtreme Nutrition, Xtreme Vitality, Xtreme Sales!

Just on ten weeks from the start of the season and the Southeast Asia Region has reached One Million trays of ZESPRI™ Kiwifruit sales which is close to a 100 percent increase over the same time last season.

While the major volume markets of Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia have been racing away, all between 60 percent to 300 percent up on last year, the smaller markets of Thailand, Philippines and Vietnam have also been showing good signs that they are more willing to take larger volumes of ZESPRI™ Kiwifruit than in previous seasons.

"With fruit available, our number one objective was to get all Southeast Asian markets fully supplied right from the beginning this year," said ZESPRI™ Market Manager for Southeast Asia, Daniel Mathieson.

"Thanks to a really great team effort from the ZESPRI™ Planning and Supply and Shipping Teams who have had to manage much more airfreight than they had ever dealt with before. With many new customers and structures throughout the region, we achieved our targets and more, to get the fruit to the right markets at the earliest time".

"To drive early sales and to educate consumers about the nutritional goodness of ZESPRI™ Kiwifruit, our new campaign direction for the region of 'Xtreme Nutrition, Xtreme Vitality' was launched in each market. We used print, TV and radio media and our in-store promotions with tremendous success. Targeted journalists from around the region have also given us overwhelming support to promote ZESPRI™ GREEN, ZESPRI™ GOLD and ZESPRI™ ORAGNIC Kiwifruit to consumers in each country. There are many more health and nutrition focused stories about to be released which will help us build brand awareness and continue the good growth in this emerging region."
